Jolly Buoy Islands, Andaman and Nicobar

Jolly buoy islands is one of the most attractive places in Andaman. This place is famous for its coral deposits and primeval clear beach.  Jolly Buoy Island is just one hour trip from Wandoor beach. Wandoor beach is in Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. Wandoor beach is thirty kilometers away from Port Blair, which is the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The travellers who are planning for a trip to Jolly Buoy Island should reach Wandoor beach before 9:00 am. The boats will be leaving for this island by 9 O’clock. Jolly Buoy Island is a plastic prohibited area. Travellers have to report about the plastic products which they are carrying along with them, and should deposit INR 100 each for every plastic item as security which is refundable if those plastic items are brought back after the trip. Charges will be levied for carrying video or still cameras. Nothing is available in the jolly buoy islands and people need to carry whatever they want, like water and food.

This island provides a good view of underwater coral and marine life. Boats made of transparent bottoms make it easy for the holidaymakers to have a close look at the marine life. It has a good beach, and this beach has dense bushes. This is also included in the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. It is one of the best places for scuba diving and snorkeling. People who are interested in scuba diving and snorkeling need to carry swimsuits along with them. This is a no man’s island people who go there will be returning back to the Wandoor beach.There are many other islands which are densely forested surrounding the jolly buoy island. The underwater marine life will be shown through the transparent bottom boats but this is just for a few minutes and if travelers wish to spend more time on such boats one need to hire such boats for this.

There is no proper arrangement like safes or cloakrooms for keeping the traveler belongings and for changing so they will have to keep an eye on their items which they have brought along with them. It will be better to carry newspapers or bed sheets which could be used while having food or for relaxing.Travelers should take great care about the plastics and other items to bring back and other degradable products could be cleaned and dropped in the waste box. It is better not to plan your trip during the rainy season since there is no place which could be used as a shelter.It is hot and humid during March and April. So it is better to visit the jolly buoy island during this period.

This place will not be opened throughout the year so it is better to check whether the place is opened before you plan the trip. This is closed for the supporting the proper growth of the corals. Make sure whether it is opened before charting the trip.Red skin islands will be opened for the travelers when the jolly buoy island is being closed. These islands will be closed alternatively, so the travelers could chart their trip to Andaman and Nicobar islands whenever they want. The visitors can stay in the jolly buoy island till 2:00 pm. The boats will be leaving the island by 2:30 pm. The travelers visiting this place should keep in mind that the growth rate of coral is around 1 inch per 9-10 years, so it is the duty of the travelers to check littering.
