One of the striking geographical features of Andaman and Nicobar islands is the availability of large areas of beach. Beaches are formed by the deposition made by the sea waves. Some of the striking features of these beaches of Andaman and nicobar are; it is usually shallow and the coral reef formation which make it unique. As we know that an island is an area of land encircled by large water bodies like seas and oceans. Other specialties of these beaches are, they are not crowded and they are untouched. Corbyn’s Cove beach

Corbyn’s cove beach is a soft sandy and pristine beach with rows of coconut trees grown on the inland. Water boating, scuba diving and surfing is some of the attractions which invite the travelers to this tourist destination. The corbin’s cove beach is the only beach which is near to the city. This beach is just Eight Kms away from the city centre. You will be able to see astounding sceneries on the way to the beach. North Bay beach

The North Bay beach is located to the north of Port Blair, which is just 45 minutes travel from Aberdeen jetty. The light house which is depicted on the backside of 20 rupee note is located in the North Bay beach. You could get a clear view of the islands of Ross and Port Blair from the top of this light house. A wide variety of water sports activities are available in the North Bay beach. Scuba diving, sea walking, snorkeling and glass boat rides are some of the features which attracts tourist and adventurers to this place. It is a shallow sea which enables the travelers to have a close look at the coral reefs and under water marine lives. There are several companies in Northern Bay which provides all gadgets required for scuba diving and they also provide photographs of underwater which can be taken home by the travelers. Occasionally you could see lobsters holding on to the coral deposition. There are small shops near the beach from where you could have your refreshment. The Northern Bay beach is really crowded, so this place is not meant for having a peaceful time. Munda Pahar Beach

Munda Pahar beach is in Chidiyapatu and it is just 25 kms away from Port Blair. The mangrove growth in the Munda pahar beach gives a good experience for the travelers. The Munda Pahar beach provides a clear view of the sunset, so it is known as the Sunset Point. There is a difference in the sea bed of the Munda Pahar beach when compared with the other beaches of Andaman and Nicobar. The sea bed is less rocky and it is good to take a dip in this ocean. The Chidiyatapuis also known as the ‘bird island’. Most birds migrate to this place and the varieties of birds of Andaman and Nicobar can be seen here. Chidiyatapu is the southernmost point of the southern Andaman. You can go to the southernmost tip of the south Andaman in trek. This adventurous trip includes travel through forest. The trek provides the travelers with enough food and water. So please don’t miss a chance to go for this trekking. It will be a good experience at Munda Pahar, the shining sunset and the soft pristine sands of the beach provide the travelers enough delight.

Wandoor Beach

Wandoor is a small village which is located in southern Andaman. Wandoor beach is situated in the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. This place is also known as the gateway to the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. Travelers planning to go to Jolly buoy island and Red Skin Island should come to the Wandoor beach in order to catch the boats leaving for these Islands. You need to cover a distance of thirty kilometers from Port Blair in order to reach Wandoor beach.  Too many boats of fishermen can be seen on the shore of Wandoor beach. So it is not a good place to spend a lot of time and this beach will be crowded by travelers who have reached there with the aim of visiting the Jolybuoy Islands. If the travelers are not engaged through any tourist agents, then they need to get the ticket which is around INR 250. Extra charges will be levied for the still cameras and video cameras. There are counters at Wandoor beach where the travelers need to deposit a security amount of INR 100 each for every plastic items carried by them. This amount will be repaid after producing the plastic items at the counter after coming back from the islands. The travelers who have planned for going to Redskin Island and Jolybuoy islands should reach the Wandoor beach before 9:00 am. The boats will be leaving from Wandoor beach by 9:00 am and it will be returning by 4:00 pm. If you are an adventurous guy then you could prefer a trekking to natural caves formed by the erosional activities of the sea waves.

Collinpur beach

Collinpur beach is located near Tirur which is around 36 kms away from the capital city, Port Blair. It also has a stunning sandy beach. And the sea is so shallow so that travelers can swim here without any fear. People come here to see sun set and for swimming. Travelers can stay at resorts which are located near the Collinpur beach.
