Veegaland Amusement Park is one of the most fascinating theme parks in India. This park was rebranded as Wonderla Kochi in the year 2011. Veegaland is very famous as it was established as India’s very first water theme park.

Located in Cochin, this thirty acre theme park is a must visit and offers a little something for everybody. The rides can be differentiated into thriller rides, dry rides, and water rides.  Veegaland offers the very best water rides and is well known for its cleanliness, sanity, and hygiene. Reverse osmosis plants are kept in the facility for this purpose.

The dry rides available include XD Max, Rockin’ Tug, Balarama Cave, Dashing Cars, Dancing Cars, Sky Wheel, Musical fountain and Laser show, `Flying Boat, Wind Mill, Cinemagic, Dancing Wheel, and Hand Glider.  The musical fountain and laser show is a must watch as you can see the water fountain come alive right before your eyes. It is a sight to behold. The adventure rides here oscillate and turn around in all possible directions to give you a one of a kind experience.

The thriller rides include Vintage Tornado, Twin Flip monster, Super Jumper, Space Gun, Wavy and Vertical fall, Thunder fall, Wonderla Bamba, and Maverick. Built using the latest technology, these thriller rides pump up your adrenaline levels and are definitely not for the fainthearted. Swivel, swirl, move up, move down, tilt, and shift your way through these rides, some of which are as high as thirty meters.

The water rides in Veegaland are the most spoken about and is a dream come true for a water enthusiast.  The water rides include Wave Pool, Wonder Splash, Family slide, Rapid River, Boomerang, Water Coasters, Play Pool, Snake Slides, Fun Glides, Water Falls, Rain Disco, Water Pendulum. For Wave Pool and Rain Disco separate timings are available for women, men, and couples. There are three play pools and they shower water on you at regular intervals from all directions. The wave pool has deep and shallow ends and can be enjoyed by both children and adults alike.

The best time to visit Veegaland is from October to March when the climate is pleasant and dry. Changing lockers are available for both men and women for a nominal fee. The other facilities include prayer halls, multi-cuisine restaurant, ATM, Safety and first aid room, Lost and Found room, and an exclusive kiddie section for toddlers. Prams and wheel chairs can be hired at the entrance for a refundable deposit and must be returned at the exit.

Veegaland is open all through the week. It’s open from ten thirty in the morning to six in the evening on weekdays and from ten thirty in the morning to seven in the evening on weekends and public holidays.

Wonderla provides both general and fast track tickets.  Fast track tickets give you the privilege of going on all the rides in a short queue. It’s advisable to take the fast track tickets during the peak season as standing in the queue taking general tickets may not let you enjoy all the rides. During weekdays the general tickets cost rupees five hundred and eighty for one adult and rupees four hundred and seventy for a child. The Fast track tickets will cost rupees one thousand one hundred and sixty for an adult and rupees nine hundred and forty for a child. On weekends and public holidays the general tickets cost rupees seven hundred and thirty for an adult and rupees five hundred and ninety for a child. The Fast track tickets will cost rupees one thousand four hundred and sixty for an adult and rupees one thousand one hundred and eighty for a child.

Peak season is from the twenty fourth of December to thirty first December. Separate charges are charged for the tickets during this season.
