According to the Government, the new international airport will augment sightseer inflow and also comply with the wants of regular visitors, corporate and exporters in the places nearby.
Railways in Agra: There are primarily three railway stations in the Agra city viz; Agra Cantonment Railway Station, Agra Fort Railway Station and Agra City Railway Station. The other stations consist of Raja Ki Mandi Railway Station, Etmadpur Railway Station, Yamuna Bridge Railway Station, Keetham Railway Track, Billochpura Railway Station, Fatehpur Sikri Railway Station and Idgah Railway Station. Some of the trains that conduct services through Agra include Gondwana Express, Bhopal Shatabdi, Garib Rath, Tamil Nadu Express, Allahabad Mathura Express, Malwa Express, Kerala Express, Shreedham Express etc. These trains link Agra with other cities in India. Semi-High Speed Train: In addition, there is a semi high speed train that runs between Agra and Delhi every day. Road transportation in Agra: The major bus stations in Agra includes Idgarh Bus stand, Inter State Bus Terminal, Ford Depot and Taj Depot which link Agra with the main cities in the northern states. Three national highways are passing through this city including one express way. The NH2 links Delhi and Agra within 200 kilometres by travelling four hours. The Yamuna Express highway also connects Delhi and Agra with same travel distance but within the time of two hours. The express highway connects Aligarh and Mathura through the state highways. The Yamuna Expressway previously knew as Taj Expressway links Greater Noida and Agra travelling through Mathura and Khair. It needs a travel of 165 kilometres. The NH 93 also links Agra with Aligarh and Moradabad.
Local transport: There are bus services, cycle rickshaws and auto rickshaws to travel within and outside Agra. There are also tempos that travel on specified routes only. It takes nearly six travellers and is economical compared with other services. Outside the local limits of Taj Mahal, Tonga is permitted.
